What Is Self-improvement?

Self-improvement, or personal development, is the act or effort to improve your mindset, knowledge, character, or overall life. It’s the journey of making one area or all areas of your life better by simply aiming to improve by 1% every day (it adds up, trust me). How do you get started? Well, there are numerous ways to start your self-improvement quest, including journal prompts, meditation, and building healthy habits, just to name a few.

Why Should I Care?

While you don’t have to focus on improving yourself, it would be silly to avoid it. Making the conscious effort to improve your life will help you unlock new opportunities, grow and develop as a person, and achieve the maximum version of your character. If you don’t choose to improve your life, you risk never have anything better than what you have now.

What Is Self-discovery?

Self-discovery is not a journey to discover someone new, it’s a journey to break down the barriers within yourself to discover who your soul always knew you were. It’s a process of understanding your own character and becoming aware of your potential and motives. If you discover yourself, you’re able to tap into your passions, figure out your life’s purpose—the reason you get up in the morning—and learn what motivates you. Ultimately, discovering who you are and what you want to do allows you to unlock the best version of yourself.

Why Should I Care?

Without discovering yourself—understanding your purpose, passions, potential, and motives—you’ll never achieve something better than what you have now. You’ll choose to live a life inundated by unconsciousness and the pain that comes along with it.
