Holy frickin’ December… I hope you had a great holiday week and weekend! It always feels weird getting back in the swing of things.
On Monday, I started a Google Doc called “wtf is going on???” as place to dump all my thoughts when things start to feel busy or all over the place. So far, it’s working pretty damn well.
I’m a big believer in putting things on paper when it feels like there’s a lot in your head. It’s so much easier to make sense of it all.
Thank you for reading this week!
Four Ideas
One.
Just because the grain goes in one direction doesn’t mean you should follow it.
Stand out, don’t fit in. There’s beauty in doing things differently.
Two.
Changing your life isn’t a game of who’s motivated; it’s a game of who’s consistent.
If you focus on motivation, you’ll only show up when you want to.
If you focus on being consistent, you’ll show up regardless of how you feel.
The chance to make tomorrow better than today should be enough fuel to keep you going, even if you don’t feel motivated.
Three.
The scariest part of living on autopilot is that one day you’ll wake up and realize that you could have made your life exactly what you wanted by acting with intention and purpose.
I can’t tell you when you’ll have your wake-up call, but I hope it’s sooner rather than later. Or maybe it’s right now.
Four.
I read a post on LinkedIn the other day that mentioned the biggest deal this salesperson ever closed was on December 31 @ 5 pm PST.
This is a good reminder that the calendar shouldn’t define how driven or lazy you should be. It’s also a good reminder that you never know when your hard, consistent work will return as a reward from the Universe.
You should never give up because the work you put in today could lead to your greatest opportunity of your life tomorrow.
