I was out all last week doing something incredible: I officiated my first wedding!! This checks off #53 on my bucket list (yes, I have an actual list).

I feel so honored that two of my closest friends wanted me to marry them. It was absolutely an experience I'll remember forever!

Now I'm back in Seattle and getting to it. We're here until October, then head out to Memphis for another wedding. As people who love to travel and do quite a bit of it, we do love when we get a long period of time at home to just be 🙂

**Also - I'm trying something new in this newsletter. I've been doing a lot of reflective creative writing lately and thought I'd share something I wrote. It's under the first section. I'd love to know what you think! If you reply to this email, it'll come directly to me. I read every email!

Thank you for reading this week!

One Thing to Help You Think

The other morning, I asked my wife for some chamomile tea, and she said, “You know that’s going to be calming, right?”

I thought to myself, that’s exactly how I want to feel.

In a world full of quick hits of dopamine, zero-sugar energy drinks, and 31-ounce Starbucks coffee cups, feeling calm and at peace is a luxury. But I think we tend to forget that because everything around us makes us believe we need to feel some sort of high or buzz.

Don’t get me wrong, I used to drink three cups of coffee a day, but then I started to wonder why it always felt like I had a hundred things on my plate when I really had nothing.

So, I stopped drinking coffee a few years ago because we don’t go well together. As I started to live without caffeine, I started to fall in love with being grounded in my natural energy, influenced by nothing other than my mind, body, and soul.

The older I get, the more I don’t want to rely on energy boosters to make me function. I value being rooted in my inner peace so I can take intentional action that aligns me with the life I want to create.

I have nothing against coffee drinkers or caffeine, but I will just take a chamomile tea, please.

One Thing to Help You Grow

Your life is not a result of what happens to you; it's a result of how you respond to what happens to you.

When you have radical responsibility for your reality and stop blaming things outside yourself for how things are, you take back control of your life and make it exactly what you want it to be.

Embrace radical responsibility today to be the creator of your tomorrow.

__________

One Thing to Help You Expand

How can we appreciate the slow changing of the seasons but beat ourselves for making slow progress in life?

It's time to appreciate the unfolding of your journey, regardless of how fast or slow it's happening, because it's happening exactly how it's meant to.

Best,
