It's honestly pretty crazy that it's already March? I'm not sure how that happened, but hello, spring. It's knockin' at our door.
Three years ago, I started working on a new book about how we can align with the rhythm of change to evolve with more ease. I'm currently deep in the writing process with a coach, and I'm incredibly proud of what I'm creating.
This book feels on another level than You Deserve This Sh!t and Pursuit of Purpose. I can't wait to share more with you soon 🙂
Thank you for reading this week!
5 books that brainwashed me into living a rich life (and how I turn them into a life-changing curriculum)
With today's YouTube sharing five books that brainwashed me into living a rich life, I want to walk you through a simple process to turn books into a life-changing curriculum.
Books only improve your life when you integrate the lessons that resonate. Most people miss this because they're focused on reading as many books as possible every year, skimming through to check a box and feed their ego.
While it may feel special to say you read 15 books in a year, what's it worth if those books have no lasting impact on your life?
I only read three to five books per year, and that's on a good year.
This is because I turn the books I read into a curriculum to overcome the things holding me back and build a richer, more meaningful life.
Here's my process:
- Pick a book that matters: Don't just pick the book that everyone's reading. Choose a book that helps you grow in an area that you want to strengthen.
- Read slowly and intentionally: It's not a race to the end. Read at the place that lets words sink in. If you don't understand something, reread it. I've legit read the same sentence five times before moving forward.
- Chapter reflection: At the end of every chapter, stop and take out a journal. Summarize the key points on one page, and reflect on an experience you've had that highlights the chapter's teachings on another. Only move on to the next chapter once you've finished this step.
- BONUS - Teach someone else: New information sticks better when we teach it to others. If you want some bonus points, teach someone what you learned at the end of each chapter. You can also use a voice recording if you're alone.
Full transparency: This will slow your reading rate. But that's the whole point.
The slower you read, the more information you absorb.
The more information you absorb, the more likely you are to effect change.
You might only read a couple of books per year, but your life will start to take on a new look and feel. I think your future self will be pretty happy with your decision.
Book recommendation of the week

Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
This is my latest "omg this book is changing my life" book. I recently realized I was letting old beliefs and scripts run my life and hold me back from stepping into my new identity. The same morning I had that thought, this book came into my life.
It's the original behavior change book from the 1960s that will help you evolve your self-concept to attract richer opportunities, better results, and the reality you crave. I like to think that Maxwell Maltz walked so Joe Dispenza could run.
But, for my own taste, Joe Dispenza's work is too scientific and often doesn't resonate. This book explains behavior change in a much more understandable way and strikes a powerful chord.
Thank you for reading. I hope to see you again next week!
